August Newsletter – Book Week & Family Fun at Playtime at Port

August Newsletter

August at Playtime at Port was a celebration of play-based learning, child-led exploration, and joyful community connections. From dressing up for Book Week to blending banana smoothies and baking with families, our children embraced every moment with curiosity and creativity.

Book Week was a standout highlight, with children arriving dressed as their favorite characters and sharing beloved stories. Our Book Week Parade brought families together for a morning of storytelling, costumes, and delicious morning tea—an experience that beautifully blended literacy, imagination, and social development.

We also welcomed new educator Lilly to our team, adding fresh energy and warmth to our nurturing environment. Her enthusiasm for early childhood education has already made a positive impact on our learning space.

In the kitchen, children explored sensory play and fine motor skills by making banana smoothies and baking a special cake with Naïa’s mum, Sharni. This hands-on experience encouraged teamwork, counting, and confidence—all key elements of our child-led learning approach.

At Playtime at Port, we believe in creating endless learning opportunities through meaningful experiences. Whether it’s dressing up, cooking, or collaborating with families, every activity is designed to support development, spark joy, and strengthen our sense of community.

We’re always excited to welcome family involvement—whether it’s sharing a recipe, a story, or a hobby. These moments enrich our program and help children feel seen, valued, and connected.

Explore our August newsletter to see how we continue to nurture growth, creativity, and connection through play-based learning.
